I had an elderly grandmother who was blind and at the young age of 18 I was chosen by the family to be her caregiver during the day. During this experience I learned how important it was that senior citizens have a good quality of life even in their latter years. I learned to appreciate the wisdom and knowledge that was poured into me by helping someone who was in need and I began to realize that life includes caring for those who cared for us! I worked for IHSS as a Home Health Aide from 1993-2004 where I was a companion to the elderly and disabled specifically suffering with cancer, diabetes, heart disease, dementia, blindness and stroke. I am capable of doing housekeeping, medication management, errands, laundry, appts management, cooking etc. I find it a joy to bring a smile to someone else's face who are facing challenges and need companionship.
