Getting older, one tends to put in perspective what is important. For one, I enjoy communicating with others without being in a hurry. Patience and listening are two qualities I value in others because I desire them myself. Having been employed in a hospital setting with twenty one or more patients under my charge did not leave time for interpersonal attributes such as one on one caring, observing rituals, being a good listener, communication, and I can go on and on. Working for an assisted living facility with seventeen residents for each caregiver/CNA, brought about the same problems. I want to make a difference in someone's life by doing an excellent job every time and this is the reason I want to work one on one.
