Have been working since then and love what I'm doing. I am caring, dependable, fun, positive and energetic. I am a team player and can also take the lead. I love to cook, bake and juice. Hello! My name is Tia. I have been in the caregiving, and healthcare industry for over 15 years. I got into the field by recognizing a need that I could bring to seniors, and it became a passion that I have enjoyed ever since. As the years passed, I wanted to take my skills to the next level. I enrolled in pre-requisites for nursing, and completed my AS with the goal of getting into the nursing program to become an RN/BSN. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant, have current CPR certification and TB clearance. I have extensive Alzheimer's and dementia care experience, as well as hospice and end of life palliative care experience. I have excellent communication skills and work well in utilizing various means of technology to document the care and status of my clients. I recognize the importance of maintaining the safest and most dignified environment possible for people as they enter a time in life when care is necessary, and feel honored to be able to be part of each person's story that I encounter.
Hello, I'm Laura 32 years old and I have been a nursing assistant for about 10 years. Unfortunately, I have allowed my certification to lapse but will hopefully be able to reinstate it some time in the near future. I have worked in long-term care and hospital settings. I also started working with in home support service clients at 16 with my mother and started working as a nanny at 18 and have worked with clients from 9 days old to 99 years old. I am very comfortable working in different settings and with a variety of personalities. I have impeccable references and usually only work for clients that have been referred to me by former clients however I am trying to expand my horizons and try something new. I have worked with patients in a facility as well as at home who have g-tubes, foley and straight catheters, and colostomy bags. In the near future I hope to complete school, which I have put on hold for now due to financial difficulties, and continue to grow through helping others during a most difficult time in their lives.
I'm very reliable, trustworthy, I have a huge heart for all people, but elderly have a special place in my heart. I have 25 years of experience with elderly care. I have worked for in home supportive services for the last 14 years. I'm very patient and committed to giving the best care I can.
I've always enjoyed helping elderly people or people that can't help themselves people that are older than me they need so much help nowadays . I feel really blessed to be able to help someone that needs help. At the end of the day I feel blessed.
The reason I became a caregiver was because my grandmother died alone in a nursing home. I have also worked in facilities. I left due to the fact I didn't like the way the clients were treated I couldn't give them enough attention. The reason why I love working in homes with one or two clients at a time is because you get to know them you get to bond with them and they become like family. 80% of my clients I have stayed with till the end and that is because most of my clients are terminal.

Skills & Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Care Aide (HCA)
I began my caregiving career as a skilled CNA in a nursing home at the Care Center in Oakdale. Once I perfected my skills and with the proper work-methods, I resumed my work ethics at Oak Valley Hospital in the Rehabilitation Center; and was promoted by The Director of Nursing to a RNA position ( Restorative Nursing Assistant) working directly with professionals such as PT, PTA, Speech Specialists, RNs and Doctors. It was my absolute pleasure to see my patients regain their health and return home to loved ones. With my acquired experience and knowledge, great compassion and kindness, I became an independent caregiver and have worked as a private caregiver for over 15 yrs. I love what I do. I have met many wonderful clients and family loved ones; and graciously, I have received many letters of recognition. Through my caregiving process, I have worked diligently along side Hospice, applying my nursing skills to bring comfort to dying patients. My goal is to bring a quality of life to my clients with much joy and with a compassion filled with gentle kindness. Please see letters of recommendation and summaries of some of my caregiving positions below.
