I do this with my heart I make it my main focus and dedicate my all to giving the most loving, responsible care. I have a natural way about myself to understand what a patient needs. To me the elderly, dementia patients or ill patients all must have the best care given to them always making sure to treat them with the highest respect and dignity. what attractive me to caregiving was caring for my brother when he was in ICU for two weeks. I realized then the important difference that getting private care can give a patient. being able to help someone feel better after a surgery or illness. or happier during their last days if they are on hospice is so important to me. I enjoy the happy results of a patient feeling better after an illness or surgery. seeing them regain their independence and health back if very rewording. when they are hospice patients what I have learned to enjoy the most is hearing their life stories and seeing them be so happy with someone being there to visit them and help them out with any challenges. As heart breaking as it is when a hospice patient is at the end of life, to me is very important that they do not suffer or feel alone and scared. I make sure they feel loved and have the most dignity until the very end. my most personal achievement was with my last patient. she had been given two weeks to life in 2015 I didn't let that be an issue in my care for her. I had the honor of living with her and caring for her for two years and three months, until she recently passed away in arms in Nov 2017. I am still in contact with the family sharing lots of memories.

head caregiver for patients. I started with her after she had been given two weeks to live. I cared for her for two years and three months. I lived with her in a mental care facility on the memory care floor. I worked seven days a week and worked multiple 24hr shifts. I was off for two nights a week and a few hours during the week. my responsibility with her was to administer all her medications, take her vital every four hours and monitor her oxygen levels. I would do all her pressure sore care and report all changes to the Hospice RN. I was also the one who would care for any skin tears. weekly meetings with the case RN for updates on patients condition and if any medicine needed to be DC or Added or Adjusted. I would have meetings with the Hospice doctor every sixty days and give full patients report. I would keep daily medication reports and patient reports these were used by the RN and the family. I would do all the patients changes and feedings also all her showers. I would meal prep her so it would be at the perfect pureed consistency. I would do all of her transfers on the hoyer lift.
