About Damion

My name is Damion Anderson I am 45yr old father of 4 and former amateur strongman competitor. I have worked in health care for nearly 20 years in the fields of mental health and geriatrics. I was encouraged to be a nurse by my Aunt who was an RN herself who said she felt I had the heart and soul to be a good one as she put it. Shortly after her passing I entered into a Vocational Nursing program and I have never looked back or regretted the decision. Over my 15yr nursing career I've learned allot about patience and understanding learned that my patients were more than just a disease and I strived to get to know them as people so that I could tailor my care to them as individuals and strived to learn the subtle things that would help me meet their needs as well. I always advocated and treated anyone under my care like they are my own family I would give the care that I wanted given to my own family. I can't nail down one thing that I am most proud of in my career because I've always viewed what I did as more than just a job I feel being a nurse is more than just taking care of the patient but also the family and being the voice of reason, ear to listen and shoulder to cry on or person to just yell at as I've done all these things. The one thing that stands out for me was my families trust in me and allowing me to be my grandfathers Hospice nurse and transitioning him out with the dignity, respect and care that he deserved.
