I went into caregiving because I find a great deal of satisfaction taking care of others. I particularly enjoy the elderly. I have worked in private homes and in rehab facilities (alcohol and drug abuse) during the past 6 years. I also attended nursing school, but did not complete my course work. I have a CNA certificate. People say I have a pleasant personality and I am able to communicate well with anyone.

I am more of a Personal Assistant than a hands-on caregiver. I have 40+ years of office admin and computer expertise, so I specialize in daily money management for seniors - paperwork organizing, bill paying, troubleshooting billing errors, getting off junk mail lists and getting ready for taxes. I can offer some tech support. From my years of family, work and volunteer experience with seniors, I've become a lay expert on senior services and resources. I can be family liaison and provide light case management and advocacy, if desired. Six years' experience as family caregiver and advocate; eight years paid caregiver. Experienced with dementia, hearing loss, chronic illness and post hospital patients. Excellent cook, homemaker, organizer. Safety conscious and responsible. Can lead client in prescribed physical therapy exercises. Clear speaking voice, US born and educated. Great work ethic, self-motivated and professional. High standards of care. In addition to private clients from 2008 - 2019, I worked 2009- 2013 for several home care agencies. Expired registration with State of CA as Home Care Aide (DOJ LiveScan on file). Have small car and insurance for ambulatory clients only. Cannot accommodate wheelchair or walker in my car. Infrequent and local client transportation only. I have passed numerous background checks as home care agency employee; with residential care facilities and as volunteer. 41 year San Diego resident, homeowner.
