I became a Caregiver in 1975, caring for a family member. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1982, graduated from Yuba College, Marysville, CA. I worked in various care facilities, and at the Gridley-Biggs Memorial Hospital in 1983-1985. I started private duty work as a CNA/ Caregiver, in the late 1980's-1990's. During the course of my time working as a CNA, and with that I fell in love with nursing. I believe what makes me a great Caregiver, is my compassion for nursing, is having patience, understanding, strength and listening skills are an importance. I have the empathy, and the I have excellent communication skills, with both verbally and written. After raising my three adult children, I have time now to focus on me. I decided to return to school furthering my education in the field of Gerontology and Social Work and I'm looking forward in working again in Caregiving.
