I worked with my client for approximately 5 years. As the client's diagnosis declined , my duties and responsibilities increased. Some of the tasks performed were meal planning, cooking, shopping, going on walks, outings, bathing, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming, medication management, finding activities to keep the client engaged in staying physical , conversation, and mostly making her feel safe and secure!I was able to provide excellent care in a fun and positive manner, I could calm my client when she would be anxious and treated her with the upmost respect, love, and compassion at all times. Even up to the end, I was able to get her to put her hands above her head and cheer whenever we accomplished daily tasks that had became a challenge. She would still sing the jingles to commercials I had sang with her and whenever we would swat a fly, she would sing with me " another one bites the dust" in English, though she had resorted back to her native language a bit before!
