I have been blessed to not only come to love those in my care but also their family. I treat all of my clients as if they were my own mother or grandparent. I enjoy keeping them company, making sure they do things that make them happy such as maybe going for a walk or working on a puzzle. Being a caregiver has provided me a great feeling each day, being part of someone's life and helping them is very rewarding. It is not a job for everyone and honestly I would have never figured it was a job I would enjoy so much but a chance to help one day turned out to be my calling. One of my last clients had a very large and extended family. Most of whom I had not met or even heard of. Yet when they would come to visit, once we were introduced, I would hear "Oh so you are the Tina we hear of who is so good to Monireh, the one who takes such loving care of her...we are so very happy to meet you finally, we have only heard such good things about you, thank you for caring for her as you do". This from family members who just arrived from Iran, Montana or Florida and elsewhere. The fact that this extended family had heard through conversation of my interactions with the family and care of one of their oldest members made me feel really special and proud of the job I was able to deliver.
