I want to become a Caregiver because I feel that I have a lot to offer people in this population. I'm caring at heart but really fell in love with the idea of caring for others while working my way through my field work sites for the Occupational Therapy program that I'm currently attending. A huge part of Occupational Therapy is helping others with their Activities of daily living. Everything from cooking, bed transfers, grooming, dressing, dealing with sensory issues, cognitive problems, fine and gross motor skills and much much more. I love the field of OT and feel that it gives me a leg up on every one else in terms of understanding whats affecting a persons day to day life. The biggest achievement I have is the 7 years that I spent in the Marines followed by my schooling. I love to cook for other people and feel that food can be a very bonding interaction for people. I'm in shape and able to preform physical activities such as cleaning, transfers. I have a clean DMV with a reliable car and insurance and able to take clients to appointments etc. I love animals and have 2 therapy dogs that I take to hospitals in my off hours so if you love dogs but your not able to own one I can bring one of my babies over for a visit from time to time. Pet therapy not only feels good but it has been proven to lower blood pressure and stress. If your interesting in talking with me more please feel free to give me a call. ... more
