I became a caregiver in 2005. At the time, my employment background consisted of retail, merchandising and light clerical. I have always enjoyed helping people and problem solving. As a caregiver, the feeling that you get from helping people was taken to the next level. If I can help another human being feel better about their situation in life, usually dealing with pain and inability to care for themselves, then I have the best and most meaningful job on the face of the planet! I have had many personal achievements in my nine years of caregiving an six years as a CNA. I was also a 'Restorative Nursing Assistant' at a facility in Sedona,Ca. I worked closely with physical and occupational therapists and helped to develope and implement personal care plans and programs which could help qualified 'residents' and patients in 'rehab' function at their highest level. There were many success stories. I discovered that because rehabilitation is so painful and requires tremendous effort that my first priority is to motivate the individual. I sold 'life and hope'. That was very rewarding! About myself: I am a young and healthy 58 year old SWF. I grew up in Playa del Rey CA and graduated from Westchester High. I married right out of high school and relocated to and lived in three different states with my husband who's employer required him to travel. The last state I lived in was SD.
