Hi, I became a caregiver because I enjoy assisting people and helping them be as independent as possible. I enjoy working with elderly and hearing their life stories. I had taken care of both my parents with they were ill and on hospice care and I understand and experienced the importance of good care. I enjoy getting to know others and life in a different time era and how people lived. I am thankful with education, to work with different needs such as severe cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, strokes, dementia and Alzheimer's. I have an understanding of the challenges people with disabilities deal with as I observe their attempts to adjust to their disability. I also assist with meals and mobility, transfers and appointments and communicating with the doctors. I enjoy nature, working in the garden and seeing God's beauty. I like to go for walks and bike rides. I think it's a peaceful place for people to relax and enjoy the colors, sights and sounds of the flowers and birds. I like the read and enjoy reading to others. I enjoy dancing and the older music and movies. I have some college experience taking courses in Gerontology and Human Services. I enjoy doing volunteer work with the elderly, children and children with disabilities. I am IHSS approved with a comprehensive background check. ... more
