Besides my experiences, I know that I am always a caregiver because I love helping people not only for my love ones but also to someone who is needing my help which I did as long as I could and I always do things from my heart. I mostly love being around with the elderly people because they inspires me in a lot of ways. And I choose to be a Caregiver for the elderly ones because of my parents..My Mother has Dementia and my Father is blind and bedridden for 3 years .We are poor and my role is the breadwinner of the family back home in the Philippines... I worked for an airline company based in Germany and I took the responsibility of taking care for their medications,doctors,food etc, And the only time that I will be able to physically take care of them is when I got my vacation which is not enough ..but I can't stay longer away from my job since nobody would take care for the rest of their needs. My father passed away in July 2010..I went home for his burial and stayed for another 5 weeks so I can take care of my Mother. 2 months later she also passed away. I lost my parents in the same year and that was one of the most difficult time I had...I knew that they will be gone one day because of their condition . But when it happened I felt the pain and emptiness of having no parents ...that one day I will come home without them. This is why I switched my career from airline job to nursing elderly people because doing this will give me the opportunity to continue caring for my beloved parents...They are my inspiration. And its a great pleasure for me to be given the chance to share my honest compassionate care to your love ones.
