I am 31 years old. Born in Port Hueneme. Raised in Ventura County. I have an older sister who is also caregiver. She played a huge roll and was a great influence. We were raised/ adopted by our grandmother and as she gets older we wanted to be the ones to care for her. My sister is married w 4 children so I know it will ultimately be my responsibility. My grandmother is a feisty, strong willed women who has taught me my greatest skill, PATIENCE! She isn't at that stage where she needs 24 hrs care so I go over every Sunday to take her church. Then grocery shopping. Fill weekly med box. Then go over again mid week for light housekeeping. Nail painting. Or whatever else is needed. I have a fun friendly personality and like to bring a positive energy w me wherever I go. Good vibes and happiness is key. Over the past 6yrs I've cared for 3 persons. My most recent is the first that I've been there til the very end. He just passed on Feb 17, 2016. It was/ is hard but he enlightened my life and I will always smile in his memory. I don't have all the certifications and licenses that most do but I have wonderful references.
