About Tara

First of, I want to let you know that I graduated with honors while in nursing school. In addition, I can proudly say that I'm in the Dean's list while taking my BSN prerequisites. I didn't pass the first time I took the nclex, but I didn't let that stop me. I used it as a motivation to work really hard to get to my goal. I studied harder and passed it with flying colors the second time around. I learned if I really want something, I need to work extra hard to get that goal. Why did I want to be a nurse? Nursing is my passion. I love providing comfort and education to those in need. I was tasked with handling a tough patient, I listened and provided comfort to the best of my abilities. I went home that day feeling good knowing I have that kind of impact in my community. That's what makes nursing so meaningful for me. My greatest strength are compassion and my ability to solve difficult problems. There was a new dementia resident in a senior living facility who was having a hard time sleeping at night. He kept pushing the call light button asking for the nurse. I thought about how I would feel if put in such situation; I took the time to talk to him. Even for as little as five minutes. It eased him and helped him sleep at night. This made me feel great. On another hand, my weakness is being irritated when other nurses don't do their work. It shows and makes impact on the nursing staff but I'm working on being adaptable in such circumstances. Everyday is a learning day for me. I know your biggest concern is finding the best nurse for this job, and I want to assure you I can be the best nurse for this job because nursing and patient care has always been a passion.

I am a California-licensed Registered Nurse for almost three years now. My 20-year experience, as a Nurse Supervisor, ER nurse, Staff nurse, Private nurse, Nursing theory and clinical educator and NCLEX-RN reviewer, was mostly in the Philippines. I am proficient in English and computer literate. I am a patient person, capable and able to work under pressure whether independently or as a team member. I like writing short stories, poems, reading, solving crossword puzzles, listening to music, watch good movies on Netflix or TV, traveling when schedule allows it, and do volunteer work through organizations (alma mater, community, church). I like taking care of people. It makes me happy to see them happy. My patients were not just other people. I consider them my family who need my care, attention and love. I adjust to what's the best nursing interventions and approach for them. I always put my patient's and mine's safety and well-being first and foremost. Care is individualized. For me, nursing isn't just a job. It's a vocation. Seeing my patient smiles and comfortable is a reward for me. It always makes me proud when my patient or his/her family appreciates my work especially when I received short notes and messages from them telling me " ... We thank you for not only caring for our mother from a medical perspective, but more importantly, loving her in a very personal and heartfelt manner. We are forever grateful to you. May God bless you and keep you safe."
