I became a caregiver becsuse I love to nurture and care for others, that is my personality. I like how it makes me feel and the rewarding feeling both parties recieve at the end if the day. I quit my really good job in Sacramento to move my family and I to a small country town in Idaho to care for my terminally ill father who was dying of multiple health conditions. My family and I moved back to stockton. My family and I moved in with my In-laws, mainly because my mother-in-law worked and my father-in-law was and still is very ill. I helped my M.I.L. take care of my F.I.L. while she worked. He can't b e left alone due to his many serious health conditions. I did pick up a part time job, I have about 10yrs experience in restaurant work. I left that after I had my fourth child and went to work at an Assisted Living Facility. I absolutely loved it. My title was a Med-Tech, which I dispersed meds to patients, filing, phone( naking appts, communicating with physicians and nurses, personal care of patients ( helping dress, hygiene, bathing, eating, and most important to me was just taking the time to sit with them and talk). I also have been caring for my terminally ill Grandmother, she is now in a SNF (since June 2015), but prior to that she was living at home with my Grandfather who really couldn't care for her himself, so my mother and I went daily to her home and did in home care for her I really don't have one particular achievement, I have many; honestly helping anyon ... more
