It seemed like a natural progression when I retired from a career as a Firefighter/Paramedic to continue to care for others. After becoming both my father's and then my mother's full time caregiver before their passing's, I saw first hand the need for a competent, knowledgeable, and reliable person who could step in and either help out, or relieve the family of the stressful, burdensome, and exhausting responsibility of caring for a loved one. I've always been driven to help others in need; the personal satisfaction I derive from each day worked, knowing I have made a positive difference in the lives of a client and their family is the ultimate reward. Working within the parameters set by the patient's Doctor(s) and the family's/patient's wants and expectations, I modify my care to those needs/wants/desires. I keep the family involved as much as they desire, i.e., daily logs, email updates, phone calls, etc... I have been trained to not only anticipate/recognize minor and major medical events, but to confidently handle any situation presented in a calm, organized, logical and safe way insuring the most positive outcome that can be expected for the type of situation/emergency encountered. I am a very detailed oriented person; organized, clean and a great cook (as most firemen are). Resume and background check provided at interview. ... more
