My name is Destiny Chalk. I am a loving and caring person that believes everyone should have a resource to help better an individuals life. I began taking care of my grandmother at a young age; 12 years old between me and my cousin only a year older. She had a list of many different problems. This showed me health can deteriorate fast and the extra support for a person from outside places can help. I enjoy being able to help a person and creating bonds. I enjoy allowing the family to still have their flexibility while making sure their loved ones are in great hands. Seeing myself make a impact on another persons life makes me happy and gives me motivation. A personal achievement that I am proud of is taking care of my grandma for 7+ years with very little to no help. Also getting my first job at 18 years old with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
