MY NAME IS MARIA, I BELIEVE TO BE A GREAT CAREGIVER. I FIRST STARTED AS A CAREGIVER WHEN MY SON WAS A VICTIM OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT, HE WAS BADLY INJURED WITH HEAD TRAUMA , HE WAS 4 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. IT WAS VERY HARD FOR ME BUT I HAD TO HELP MY SON, SO I LEARNED HOW TO DO RANGE OF MOTION WITH HIM. I LEARNED HOW A GASTRONOMY TUBE SITE WAS TO BE CLEANED AND HOW TO FEED HIM AND GIVE MEDICATION THROUGH HIS G-TUBE AND FLUSH IT, HOW TO TRANSFER HIM FROM THE BED TO THE WHEELCHAIR AND THE WHEELCHAIR TO THE CAR AND THEN I HAD TO TAKE CARE OF MY GRANDFATHER WHO HAD DEMENTIA AND GOUT. I ENJOY CARING FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE BECAUSE I LIKE MAKING OTHERS SMILE AND MAKE THEM FEEL COMFORTABLE. BEING A CAREGIVER IS SOMETHING I LIKE TO DO HELPING THEM WITH THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE. A PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT I AM PROUD OF IS EARNING MY CNA LICENSE.
