I have been a caregiver for 15 years. I have continued my education as well. I love working with diverse clients. I work with the elderly and mentally disabled from children to adults. I believe that it has always been my calling. I am very respectful, compassionate and caring. I am responsible and trustworthy.
I started helping my grandparents at a young age. I could relate to them, and would sit and listen to 78 rpm records, w/ my grandfather, and he would tell me stories about the music we listened to. I traveled around the World, w/ my parents at their families, and would have to help them in their needs. In 2000, I started working at Nursing Homes in Boulder, and have continued to this day. I can relate to the elderly, whether they are male or female. I like seeing them happy and pleased, when I have helped them in any way. The fact that I have been with various clients for over 6 yrs. continuously, before they have passed on. I live in Lafayette, Colo. Am a homeowner, am very religiously minded, and am always putting "other people first", before myself. I always think of the aspect of: "how would I feel, were I in the other individuals' shoes?" and how they would want to be treated?
Have always had a respect and admiration for our elderly. Helping, seeing them smile and laugh makes me smile. I have spent 20 years in the health field arena. Seventeen of those in clinical research as a coordinator. For 12 years I have worked part time as a caregiver, evenings and weekends , providing companionship, an awareness of medical needs, spiritual inspiration, planned activities and hospice care. I have certificates and training in CPR, Alzheimer's, Professional Caregiver Education, Advanced CareGiver Training, medical terminology and phlebotomy.
Reliable self-focused nursing assistant with excellent patient care and customer service skill. I have developed strong technical skills that could be fully utilized to achieve high levels of patient satisfaction in diverse health conditions. Certified Nurses Aide, Current CPR, QMAP
My name is Barbara Duus. I am a native of Colorado and have been married 30yrs. I have lived in my current home for 28years. I have over 40 years of caregiver experience. My goal as a caregiver is to keep one thriving in their own home; to spoil them; to provide a safe, nurturing, loving relationship and companionship. The individual I care for will feel special and loved. They will feel happiness, joy, contentment, balanced, engaged, and comforted. I am a caregiver because this is where I find my fulfillment in life. I started caring for my grandma, "Nano," when I was 13 years old. She was confined to a recliner chair.I will never forget those days with her. I knew then, I had found my calling in life. Aside from that, I am especially proud of the hospice care I have provided. I am creative, "old school," compassionate, honest, organized, patient and very empathetic to my clients needs.
I become a caregiver because I love it,and Want I like about being a caregiver is to be able to help someone and put a smile in their face. My personal achievement that I proud of are a lot start from my kids, and just be able to still going to school to earn a degree. I am 28 years old going to school for my nursing, married with 3 kids.
I have always enjoyed the ability to help others to enjoy living when it becomes hard for various reasons. I am very friendly and always smiling. I have cared for people for about 10 years now whether privately for family/friends or under a company. I feel like I will be a great fit for anyone.

I am here to help you take care of your love one they way you need . I am very understanding. I listen and I work very hard for my familys.
I absolutely love the elderly as well as all ages. I'm 19 and have been doing this for a year. I stared at at home care then moved to a facility but I would rather be doing at home. Ever since I was little I used to go to church with my grandma and when I would go I wanted to hang out with the elderly. Until my grandma got sick with cancer I wanted to help out any person I could. I want to help the elderly as well as anyone else who needs it. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is getting to know that person. Listen to all there stories and listen to what they need. I also love going home at the end of the day knowing I helped someone. A personal achievement that I have made is being a QMAP. Most people under the age of 25 do not have this and to me that is a big deal.
