About Kimberly

I believe I am a great caregiver because I truly love taking care of others! I try to help as little as possible in certain areas, to let them still feel as independent as possible, being there when needed, and I believe it is their time to be pampered and spoiled. I think what I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is that I can make their lives a little easier and give the family's some comfort knowing that their loved ones are with someone that truly enjoys their job and " will take care of them as they would". What personal achievement I am proud of is completing school last year. It was worth it, and I enjoyed it so much I have returned to school to become an Activity Care Professional so that I may continue my journey with the elderly. It also showed me, I'm in the right place-helping the elderly. I am a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant,(NRCMA) ; and when I complete the program I am in now, I will be an Activity Care Professional, (ACP) and a Certified Nurses Assistant, (CNA); and I am CPR/BLS Certified. Also, have completed Covid19 awareness and safety classes and an additional 25 online courses at Care Academy. I have had both doses of the Covid 19 vaccine.

I am caring for an 88 yr old gentleman at his daughter's home. I come in in the mornings and get him up take him in for breakfast, give him his morning meds, take his blood sugar, blood pressure, oxygen level, and temp, After breakfast, I help him shower, get dressed for the day ahead then he usually watches the news, while I do some of my daily chores. Daily, because I need to keep him as active as possible, (which is even harder to accomplish during a pandemic), we go out-somewhere daily. I take him to all his appointments, as well as shopping or just sightseeing and almost always we pick up lunch while out and take it home. Then he naps as I finish up my chores and I get him ready for the evening and repeat this pattern 6 days a week, I assist in his showers, incontinence, housekeeping, laundry. meals, medication reminders, appointment setting, and documenting his care and activities daily. He has moved into an assisted living facility .

My parents were both very involved with volunteering. I learned early on the benefits and rewards of being caring, kind and helping others. My mom lived in her own home until she recently passed away at 98. We had various caregivers for her over the years, and while some were wonderful, there were many more that were not. I treat people the way I would treat my own mother...with respect and dignity. I try to find what brings joy to whomever I'm caring for. Do they like to sing or be sung to, play cards, board games, go for a walk? I can help clean, make meals, get groceries, transport to and from Dr visits and hair appointments or just give a full time caregiver a break. I helped my mom with bathing, grooming and dressing and am willing to learn how you do things. I have a heart of gold when it comes to people who need a little extra help, especially the elderly. I'm reliable, patient, trustworthy and will always show up with a smile. I hope to hear from you....Denise Will also do evening checks after 5:30 p.m. I can make sure your loved one has eaten dinner or I can make them dinner, taken medications, help them get ready for bed, take dog out, make sure doors are secured or just visit. Will stay a min of 3 hours @ $22 an hour. Will help with transportation to and from the hospital and after care from surgery/plastic surgery. I will gladly give you references upon request. P.S. - I should also mention that I'm allergic to cats....sorry!
