About Phylicia

I decided that I wanted to be a caregiver because I love being around people and caring for them. What I like being a caregiver is that I have realized that a lot of people just want someone to talk to, or to just listen to them. I don’t mind doing either one. I enjoy listening more because it brings them the joy that someone will and at times it gives them the feel of release. A personal achievement of mine that I am proud of is graduating from College America with a 3.81 GPA. A lot of people told me that I wouldn’t make it or that I would drop out. I got through my clinicals at a nursing home doing CNA work and I really enjoyed it. A lot of the residents wanted someone to talk to about even just their interests or how their life was before they went there. I did my externship at Peak Vista in Fountain. I also enjoyed that. I am currently working on getting certified as an MA. My next step is working on phlebotomy and then my certification as a CNA. I love being around people, I am a hard worker, follow instructions, and do the best that I can to my title.

My granny also known as my best friend had became very ill around 2013/2014 and my mother worked a full time job, she didn't have anyone to help her take care of my granny so I told my mother that I would provide for her. I took care of her day in and day out, I enjoyed bonding with her and getting to know and understand her interest.
