About Mary

I was the Director for the Senior Center in Idaho Springs, Co, and realized that I wanted to help our most underserved community, our elderly. My happiest moments are when I give back to the elderly. I worked for my husband who is a physician for many years, and I realized then that the elderly do not have a voice. I contribute what I can to make a difference and only hope that I have made a difference. I am often told that I continue to make a difference in the lives of our underserved elderly population. An achievement I am proud of was writing grants for the Senior Center in Idaho Springs, and helping obtain upgrades for the Senior Center apartments in an effort to improve their daily living. Unfortunately, when I moved the building was not sustainable as a senior center and is now affordable housing for local residents over 60. Elderly people gravitate to me and tell me that I make them smile, and that I make them happy. I give them an outpouring of love and happiness and I am rewarded by their big smiles. We play games, sing, walk, play cards, work on puzzles and so much more. I give all that I have to make sure they are happy. When I have to leave for the day they always ask me to stay. This has been my calling and I love them all. This summer I am planning a picnic with some games and music. I am also a certified yoga teacher and I am skilled in teaching the elderly chair yoga which is great for the improvement of range of motion. This is a free service I provide to my clients. I get along well with my clients' families and they know they can count on me to follow through with my commitments, and they know I take excellent care of their beloved family members. I also am a member of the SPCA and I foster dogs and donate to this organization every month. I love helping people I have a disabled daughter who was born with a lot of issues she needed 24 hour care I was 20 knew nothing about any disabilities...was giving training threw nurses and some of her drs...she wasn't excepted to walk talk or live very long she is now 33...i cared for her until she was 20 then made a decision to place her in a residential housing...since then I have been a caregiver once for a elderly man he was 94 I liked helping him he was a caring man we would talk for hours I assited him with showers cooked and cleaned during the hours his son was working I enjoyed being his companion he would always be happy when I was around.iaround.i also was the caregiver for my in laws he had cancer and she had copd I was very happy to help them it made me feel goid that I was there to help them with assisting in their needs...i have worked in residential homes in assuring with everyday needs...it makes me feel needed and happy to help in any way to make their lives a little easier and give companionship and to be a friend...i enjoying being a caregiver knowing I'm helping someone to make it alittle easier for them and to let them know that I care and will help in any way I can even to be that friendly smile to make their day brighter....i know CPR and know about copd some cancers worked with stroke patients i know how having a disabled child can be hard so I want to be able to help relieve some of the pressures off the family's and provide the best care which is always a 100 percent I am very reliable trustworthy loyal a dependable I promise you won't regret having me a a caregiver for your family member

I belivee to be detail oriented to bea caregiver on to acknowledge each customer, client or resident their changes each and every day. i am good with companionship and are a great listener. I have a big heart as a caregiver and the needs for those who I care for is very important to me and the family. What I enjoy as being a caregiver is activities of daily duties. I want to make sure the care for them is more important and the importance of their personal hygiene the care for their activities for light exercises and the hours for when they have eaten or not is very important before helping them with other things such as light housekeeping. The concern for the client's health is more important than anything else.
