Hi there! My name is Karly and I am currently a nursing student at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. I have almost 2 years of experience working as a caregiver both in facilities and in home health. After nursing school, I plan on entering the field of geriatric nursing- working as a caregiver has shown me that I have a passion for working with older adults. I am especially good at working with those who have dementia, as I have the most experience with this. Although I love working with older adults, I enjoy working with a variety of clients who have a variety of needs. I have about a year of experience with medical needs such as tube feeds, oxygen, and medication administration- all experience from nursing school. If there is another medical need, I have all the resources to learn about what I need to do to provide the best care and I am a quick learner. Hello, my name is Cathy Kimball (Mary Catherine Kimball) and I am retired from teaching for 32 years in Denver Schools. I have off and on cared for my mother, who has passed away and my father, who now lives in a senior community. My first job (after babysitting) was working at a senior center. When I went on to college, I continued to visit them on my holidays. After returning from my latest trip to Phoenix to visit my father, I realized how much I adored helping at my dad's home. I love learning senior's life history and making them safe and comfortable. As a teacher, I tutored students after my regular school was over for the day- in their homes and in the hospital. I come from a very educated family, I am married and our son works as a petroleum engineer in Africa.
