About Autumn

When I first started in the healthcare world I had no clue what the job really took I started in 2004 by working in assisted livings, and within that first week I knew this was for me. I had the opportunity to help others in need in ways I never thought possible and for people of all ages. I love that not only do I get to help people in all different ways and needs but that I also get to become a part of their life as well, talking to them about their life, family and the achievements they have came across in their life as well. I gained most of my knowledge working with some amazing nurses and have showed me and have gave me the skills that I have used to become one of the best CNA's I can be the best reward is hearing from patients that you are doing a good job also when you are chosen to train new employees you know you are doing a good job and that your chain of command knows you are doing a good job. I have compassion for all people, very loving person I am a military wife so because of that I have become very strong also as a mother of two toddlers I have all the patience in the world, I have been blessed with being able to be with my children to watch them grow and ready to get back into the healthcare world.

    Experience & Education

    Certified nursing aide

    Dec 2011 - Jun 2012
    Manor Care
Worked in nursing home was required to care for my own set of seven to ten residents every day I had the same residents every shift I worked and was responsible for all of their daily needs, as many health care jobs team work was required and all CNA co-workers if help was needed we would all share responsibility to get the job done. Required to relay any issues with charge nurse and take our daily orders from the nurse as well. Responsible for vitals, proper daily grooming, light housekeeping cleaning up their room so it was nice for them to return to. Help residents with feeding if needed, encouraged actives as well as make sure they were keeping hydrated with fresh water or beverage of choice and snack if needed or wanted. Proper charting was a have to during and before you left for that day as it was all computerized and would have to make sure to relay daily care on each resident onto the oncoming shift.
    Dec 2011 - Jun 2012

    Certified nursing aide

    Dec 2008 - May 2011
    Park Place Healthcare
Park Place was a nursing home consisting of different units one that was a locked memory care unit, a rehabilitating unit, and three other units one with hospice care if and when needed. I had worked on every unit and every shift they had available. Observed and documented patient status and reported patient complaints to the charge nurse. Read and recorded temperature, pulse and respiration. Completed and submitted clinical documentation in accordance with agency guidelines, collected urine and fecal samples. Assisted with transferring residents in and out of wheelchairs and adaptive equipment. Positioned residents for comfort and to prevent skin pressure problems. Charted daily information regarding the residents such as mood changes, mobility activity, eating percentages, and daily inputs and outputs. Recognized and reported abnormalities and/or changes in patients' health status to nursing staff. Comforted patients and provided them with reassurance and encouragement.

    Cerdified nursing aide

    May 2007 - Dec 2008
    Missouri River Manor
At Missouri River Manor I had the chance to get my CNA license and education for free it was a great opportunity for me and I had to take it. After finishing the class I was hired for a CNA position and with my prior experience I was hired on the memory care unit. I worked all the different shits there as well as off the locked unit. When you are working with patients with memory care needs you have to be patient be clam and learn to roll with what and how the resident is feeling at that time. It is a hard job to take care of patients with memory care needs however very rewarding. Would have to help residents with daily living needs, daily grooming/bathing, bathroom needs, daily actives to get involved with them as it was a locked unit. Proper recording of vitals and all charting on each resident that was in your care.
    May 2007 - Dec 2008

Was responsible for wound cares and breathing treatments. As a RA was responsible for daily needs and activities for residents, proper vital signs, grooming/bathing, feeding, and charting.

Since it was a home setting you were responsible for most everything home cooked meals, housekeeping, medication pass, daily grooming/ bathing, daily activities, help with bathroom needs, charting, and passing information onto next shift. I have over 5 years caregiver experience. I love helping others who are unable to do thing's on their own. I continued to do caregiving because of my grandfather o took care of for 3 year's back in 2010. Once he passed away i just felt i could do more by helping others that need help or just need someone to talk to. I am proud that i have made a difference in other people's lives.

I am Patient, very compassionate, detail oriented, and loving. My granny also known as my best friend had became very ill around 2013/2014 and my mother worked a full time job, she didn't have anyone to help her take care of my granny so I told my mother that I would provide for her. I took care of her day in and day out, I enjoyed bonding with her and getting to know and understand her interest. It allowed me to care for someone else aside from myself and build a remarkable bond. That experience encouraged my choice in major for college. I chose to go to school for nursing minoring in CNA and for Pre-Med to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. It is my passion to help others regardless of their circumstances.
