Being a caregiver is rewarding it gives me satisfaction and a good feeling to be able to assist elders with things they can no longer do for themselves. I treat them as I would treat my own family members. Treat them with respect and let them know I am there to help them, not take away from their dignity. I'm retired and bring with me many years of experience of taking care of the elderly. In my 20-30's I was a CNA and worked home health care, before retiring in insurance. I enjoy sitting and interacting with the elder and have been blessed with a warm hearted spirit. I spend the majority of my week with my Aunt and ensuring she is taken care of. Such as taking her grocery shopping and spending time visiting with her. I can be a great companion for many.

I am a patient care assistant with BLS Provider & Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification. I first began in the healthcare field 4 years ago with my handicap grandmother who was diagnosed with breast cancer & dementia with a history of diabetes & several strokes. I love being a blessing for those who are less fortunate & need assistance in order to complete normal everyday tasks, but I feel like they are an even bigger blessing to me, knowing that I'm making a difference in their lives as a companion, friend, & caretaker. After the interview process, I no longer consider my clients as patients... They become my family.
