I am a happily married woman aged 65 living in Hamden CT. I work out in a gym almost everyday which makes me very strong. Friends and family members tell me that I am a born caregiver. I spent 5 years taking care of a very sick man performing all duties including dispensing medicine, taking him to doctor and hospital appointments and watching over him at home. For the last 12 months I have been helping an 86-year old client on oxygen who is both mentally and physically challenged. See below for details. Every patient with whom I have worked has called me back or requested that I remain permanently. I prefer to work 40/hrs wk on a long-term basis with one person or family. If necessary I can work longer hours .That way I can be become better acquainted with the person for whom I am caring and better understand his or her needs. I'm a certified and license nurses aide since 2008, I decided to become a nursing aide because I did not get to fulfill my dreams of becoming a nurse in my country. I enjoy caring for people in general and being a CNA I would get the opportunity to care for individuals who need assistance in their daily activities. I like doing this type of job because I can enhance each and every individual lives in various ways as the need arise. My most recent achievement that I am proud to share is being nominated and awarded by the Alzheimer's Association South Central Region CT Chapter 2014 for Excellence in Caregiving. I am also proud to share a Plaque a client made for me, while working for her, this was my very first client who happened to be a registered nurse that was in November of 2008. There are other achievements I have received from family members expressing their thankfulness and appreciation through cards which was mailed to me which I keep as a memorabilia. A little about myself, I'm a very hard worker, who is very loyal, honest, responsible, dependable, trustworthy, kind, caring, punctual and compassionate, I'm also very flexible and was told on numerous occasion that I have a winning personality. My previous clients have high regards for me and the quality care I give.
