As a child l always wanted to take care of people. Getting accepted into Health Careers in 2007 my freshman year of high school was my first step. In 2010 I passed my written and hands on skills testing and received my nursing assistant certification in Massachusetts. I started working as a CNA at the age of 17 in a long term care facility. I continued working with Alzheimer's residents on a specialized unit until I was about 22 years old. I made the switch from long term care facilities to home care. I have also worked as an activity assistant with eledelrt residents. Assisting people with their ADLs is a very rewarding feeling. Getting to meet new people and hear all of their amazing stories is definitely one of the best parts of being a caregiver. Knowing that you can make someone's day better just by stopping by to assistance them makes my day better!
