Actually, I began my career as a Caregiver simply because I needed a job. However, being able to positively affect a person's life has proven to be particularly gratifying. My first job as a Personal Care Assistant was with a woman who has MS. I stayed with her four years, and what I am most proud of is helping guide her through some difficult issues with Social Services and being able to stabilize her financial affairs. Throughout my work life I have striven to accomplish more, never just "putting in time" and collecting a paycheck. Always looking for how to improve a situation, a procedure. And now, as a Caregiver, how to positively impact a person's life. I have First Aid / CPR certification.
