I am a Christian woman in my mid 50s who loves helping others and put my heart into. I exercise daily to keep my energy level and I am joyful most of the time. My contribution to being a caregiver is my ability to listen. Then I'll have the ability to understand the needs of the individual. To make a difference in someone's life and to make them feel that they are still relevant is important as we age. Receiving a hand written letter of thanks from individuals is what I cherish.
Am a friendly love able-person and a caring person that like to help other. What attracts me to be a care giver is that I like helping elderly people. I enjoy talking to older people and Interacting with them. Am proud that I could care for over and giving all I got to make a person happy.
I am a all around kind person, and I try to bring to joy to anyone I work with. My fiance found out that he had colon cancer about three years ago, and he had to have a big surgery to remove the cancer. He ended up with an ostomy bag that I helped him with, and he also came home with a pic line that I had to hook him up to an IV everyday. I helped him recover until they were able to remove the ostomy bag. Then my mother got sick with cancer and came to live with me. I took care of her, by helping her shower, I also had to help her to the bathroom or to her portable toilet. She ended up needing to use a bed pan. I had to administer the medicine that she got from hospice. It was hard to have to see my mother that way, but I know she needed me and needed companionship . My mother was my world and she meant everything to me, but I knew that I had to do everything that she needed, and make sure she was comfortable, and happy for her last few months of her life. She passed away in January. Being a caregiver make sme feel like I am doing something that means something to someone else. Making people feel comfortable and helping them with what they need makes me feel that I am making someone happy. I am proud of that fact that I was able to take care of my mom when she needed me the most. It was hard at times, but I know she needed me to be strong.
My name is Madisyn Quidas. I'm 22 years old and I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping people and knowing I helped someone have the best day possible. Taking care of people is my way of making a difference. It makes me the happiest knowing I was there for someone for whatever they needed and I could make them smile. I had my CNA/GNA but because of mistreatment I decided to take a different journey. I treat everyone how I wouldn't want to be treated and as if they were my personal family to give them the best caregiving experience possible.
I became a Caregiver because I have a heart for people. I am very compassionate and helpful to others. I really love being the missing link to change or make a difference in someone's life or even just their day. I am proud that after many years even after obtaining my CNA , I went back to get my G.E.D, to further my education and begin college in the near future.
