I decided to become a caregiver after providing daily care for my terminally ill grandmother. She was my world and to be able to provide the care she deserved within her own home made we want to extend that to others. What makes me a great caregiver is my absolute patience and ability to listen and understand the person. Limited or absence of independence is a difficult thing to adapt to for many of our seniors and it takes a caring and patient person to understand that. I pride myself in being such person. A personal achievement that I am proud of besides my children is the comfortability I was able to provide my grandmother with up until her last day.
