I made the decision to help others after helping my grandparents and great grandmother all through out my life. Seeing all of them being surrounded with a supportive family during their final years was truly a blessing, but sadly, not everyone is as lucky to have the constant care they did. I understand that a busy life can get in the way of helping out our loved ones, and I'd love to help them and provide company whenever I can. I love being able to help others and have often been complimented on my patience and understanding with those who need it. In her finally years, I helped my great grandmother with many activities, mostly with household chores and personal company (she was in her 90s whenever I was helping her.) I have been exposed to and helped people with memory issues, cancer, diabetes, etc. I am use to preparing food and reminding others to eat and to take their medication . I have much personal experience in this area and have no problem treating others with respect as I would want to be treated the same way. :)

What makes me a great caregiver ? Im a good listener , observant and caring . i became a caregiver because thats always something I've always wanted to experience and has becane so great at it . i tooken care of my grandma for 2yrs while working for FCI . it wasnt easy but enjoyed every moment of it. I love my patients as if they was family of my own . i love being a caregiver . you get to show someone other than your kids love . i love working with the elderly this PCA job is my home and i love it ! It's amazing how you could be an impact on someones life , by helping another.

I first began in the healthcare field 4 years ago with my handicap grandmother who was diagnosed with breast cancer & dementia with a history of diabetes & several strokes. I love being a blessing for those who are less fortunate & need assistance in order to complete normal everyday tasks, but I feel like they are an even bigger blessing to me, knowing that I'm making a difference in their lives as a companion, friend, & caretaker.
