My name is Dinesha Gay and I have been a caregiver for 8 years. I decided to become a caregiver after taking care of my grandmother. I enjoy helping people and making sure they have everything they need.

I'm honestly loving person I'll care for my clients as if they were my own family. I helped take care of my mom before she passed away and I CPR certified have a four year old so I have all the patients that it'll take to deal with the clients. What attracted me to this job is because I love helping others yeah I'll take some classes because I went to college for early childhood education but I'm willing to learn and expand my experience in the work field and just ready for change. I achievement's I am proud of the most is finishing school even though I had a new born to look after of and also my cpr certification.

My expertise is being a caregiver. I love helping and taking care of people! I started working in a nursing facility then I decided that I wanted to do home health. I love to be able to help someone to stay at their place of residency rather than them having to leave their familiar environment.

I am a caregivier/nanny because I enjoy playing a mother role. I feel that my team player attitude and patients help the older people I care for feel more at ease.

A few years ago, my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer. He refused to go into hospice because he wanted to be home with family. Unfortunately, I was the only family left to be with. However, I made it my goal to make him as comfortable as I could for the remainder of his time with me. At the end of the day, it was one of the most heart breaking experiences to watch him suffer and see him pass. Although, I wouldn't change any of it for the world! I was able to give him the peace he wanted. We laughed, hugged, stayed up all night long reminiscing. I loved every bit of it, my heart was satisfied knowing that he spent his last days happy. At home, in his own room, with family instead of nurses and that's okay with me.

A few things that makes me a great caregiver is I have personal experience with taking care of seniors. It's never just a job when I am taking care of someone else love one it's a passion. I love helping people in anyway I can. I took care of my grandmother before she pasted away in 2016. I always knew I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor, but when I was taking care of her that's when I knew that was something I love to do. I also took care of a elderly man named Michael who had cancer and only had one arm and I also helped his wife as well. I loved it and they love having me. I'm very trustworthy and honest. Stealing will never be a problem with me. If you give me a chance I won't let you down.

What makes me an awesome caregiver? Is that I didnt become a caregiver because of the income it paid me, I became a caregiver because it's something that I'm passionate about and that I enjoy being, being there for others who can't completely be there for themselves is a privilege. Each client that I've taken care of I left a soft spot in their hearts and my rewards were them telling me that they wouldn't want to lose me, they are all like family whom I currently still visit. I would want someone to treat me how I treat my clients when I'm older and can't fully take care of myself, when I look at them I see me in the future, so it's like me taking care of me when I'm older, and I love the everyday things and wisdom that I'm taught from them, I gain more from them than I actually give, I LOVE IT!! & im here to say if you don't love what you do, DONT DO IT AT ALL..
