My grandparents raised me and so automatically I have always loved the elderly. I received my certification for nurses aide in 2008 and have worked at various nursing homes since then. I love helping these people and hearing their stories. A personal achievement for me is whenever one of my elderly clients tells me "thank you for all that you do." I like to believe that somehow I have made a difference in their lives for that day.
I love working with people, I am very caring and compassionate. I decided to become a caregiver after taking care of my parents when they became unable to care for themselves. I enjoy listening and talking to the elderly, I feel you can learn so much from them. My biggest personal achievement is my college degree which I achieved after my children graduated from high school.
I am a great caregiver. I take my time to get to know the family of the person that I will be caring for. I also get to know the person that I am caring for their do's there don'ts. Writing notes is what I do most of the time and sometimes people that I care for have to modify how they want to be taken care of and that's a day-to-day basis sometimes it might be a routine sometimes it might change every other day based on me. I do my job well and I treat my patience or clients as if they were my own family members. I also have a rapport with the family of whom I am caring for.
