My grandpa, the man that help raise me, has a special case. He was diagnosed around 6 years ago. My grandmother isn't in the best health and needed help. I was assisting with their day to day routine and decided to make a career out of it. Every client I come in contact with is treated as if they are my family. I create a bond to show them I will be that one person that will give them the proper care and attention they need.

Hi, I am a mother, grandmother, and I love to care for my family. I started caregiving first for my grandparents. I fell in love with taking care of the ones who can't care for themselves or maybe just need a little help and a lot of companionship.

I became a Cna at 17 years old when my Great Grandmother decided she would not stay home with us, not wanting to burden family. I decided that one of us needed to go to her then and went to Job Corp got my Ged and Cna before my Highschool class graduated. I then took my first job at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo, Iowa . I believe in giving my clients and their families the best of me as I see the big picture and know how hard caring at home can be. In 1998 my grandpa was diagnosed with Parkinson's We kept him home as long as we could and then I went to work at Country View where he was first placed due to memory problems. He ended up back home ! We cared for him until he suffered a fall ( very common in Parkinson's ) at that time Caring for the elderly in a loving, respectful and life enriching way no matter the illness/ ability is my goal! I want my clients to have the best day each day they spend with me and I have an amazing portfolio showcasing my light work and great family references! I am capable of all aspects of homecare! Hi my passion has always been taking care of children and the elderly I will assist clients in addressing everyday personal needs such as toileting, bathing and grooming. I will Perform light housekeeping activities such as cleaning, dusting and vacuuming, Make beds on a daily basis and change linen as often as required. Most elderly clients just want to know that they will be well taken care of in their golden years. These are some of the other duties that I will perform as needed. • Engage clients in physical and mental exercises prescribed by their doctors • Escort on appointments with hair dressers and physical therapists • Provide companionship on a daily basis by lending an ear or a shoulder to lean on • Engage wards in outdoor activities such as walking and light sports • Prepare food or oversee the preparation of food to ensure that hygiene standards are met and that doctors’ orders are being followed • Manage laundry and ironing activities • Run errands including grocery shopping, bills payment and mail handling • Maintain a safe and clean environment and ensure that garbage is taken out on a daily basis We all must do what we can to take care of the people who came before us and set the standards of this world.

I am very much a person that has the compassion, patience, dependability, trustworthiness, attentiveness, enthusisism, and great communication skills. I was raised by my grandmother who taught me to respect and treat people as one would want to be treated. So it was a natural step into becoming a CNA. I love building a relationship with my clients because it benefits both of us.

What makes me a good caregiver is that I treat each client as if they were my own Family member giving tender loving care. And the reason that I became a care giver is because at the age of 17 my Grandfather that raised me became ill he developed diabetes and later on he developed lung cancer I was his soul caregiver experience changed my life. And what I like about caregiving is that it is so rewarding to give of my time and love some individuals I have worked with had no family members to care for them so to be there in every way for those paticular clients meant the world to me. And a personal Achievement that I am proud of is when I became a home owner for the first time in 2013 My children and I seen a year and a half of homelessness prior that so I consider myself Blessed to have a Permanent roof over over our heads.
