I have chosen my career as a caregiver because I get an enormous amount of satisfaction from helping and caring for others. I have been in the Healthcare field for over ten years and have experienced pretty much every kind of situation plausible in the home health care setting. I have experience with various health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, blindness, kidney disease, wound care, GERD, teach care, dialysis patients and more. What attracted you to being a caregiver? I have worked in healthcare for over 17 years. I am a former medical assistant at UCSF and Kaiser Permanente. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? I enjoy caring for patients and being a companion, they can enjoy. It brings joy to my heart knowing that I helped someone get through the day, night or through a difficult time in their life when they have an ailing medical condition. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? My children who are 23 and 17 and obtaining my Bachelor's degree in business management .

I first decided to be a caregiver after helping my parents care for my grandparents and then myself caring for my uncle and mother. I absolutely love what I do! I love helping people in particular seniors. I am very passionate and determined that whomever I care for will enjoy their time around me.My ultimate goal is to make sure every client I come in contact with remembers me, keeps their dignity intact, and no matter their situation making sure they can smile through it. I'm most proud of the fact that every client I have had has wanted and kept me until circumstance no longer permitted. I am also proud that I will be pursuing my nursing career because of my love of caregiving.

I live in San Bruno.. I currently have been hired to work as a live in Friday- Tuesday every other week for a patient with Dementia in San Mateo. However I have been in search and prefer a live in or full time job or an extra part time. I have 10+ years in the medical field as a Medical Assistant and Neurodiagnostic Technologist. I am now offering my services to the elderly, of which I'm familiar with, I shadowed and helped my own mother who was a caregiver for over 20 years. Hello, Firt of all i am glad to work with elderly people, nowing that i can be a help to them makes me happy. The reason why i decided to become a caregiver is because my grandpa is really sick and well i saw him struggling with his life by himself and i started helping him out and he liked to have my company. Once he told me their is no point in living at my age, and got me thinking.... I want to help him out. Now he likes me being around him and every elderly person i have taken care of were glad with my job. So that being said, i really like working and being around with elderly people. I learn new stuff with them.

I ve been a caregiver since i was 12 years old taking care of my uncle who had diabetes 2 and wheelchair bond and my uncle had demetia. I also help my great aunt cook and clean her open wounds to working as a medical assistant and then becoming a CNA and working in an assisted living at a lock down demetia unit with a total of 20 residents. Also ive done caregiving for a company called visiting angels and i was hired on as a caregiver then made my way up to training new hires . I have loved and enjoyed my profession since I was 16 years old when I became a CNA while in high school. I've always known what I be doing for a living because of my love to care for people who needed assistant. I am currently enrolled in college to obtain my nursing license so that i can continue to help people in need.

In 2009 my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. In 2010 she had a stroke, an because of the disorder,she had loss of memory and other mental abilities severe enough to interfere with her daily life. I moved back to Ohio and moved in with her. When I moved in she didn't have the ability to do anything on her own. What I love about caregiving is just really being able to help a person in need. In 2014 I in-rolled at Bryman College for medical assisting and the school closed down 140 hrs into 200 hrs left at my externship site. I was determined to get into the health care field, so I enrolled into a new school and completed the program again. I've been doing in-home care for awhile and I love it. It took me awhile to find out what I wanted to do with my life, but after what me and my family went through with my grandmother, I find great fulfillment in my career choice in the health care field.
