I love being a caregiver because it is a very rewarding job. It is dealing with people and it has always been a great experience of taking care and they make you feel important in their life. Sometimes they even make you a part of their family. I have been a caregiver for 5 years and i love every single of it. i am a certified cna and home health aid.
I love helping people and seeing them smile. Every senior requires their own level of assistance but also like to be independent as well, I have an appreciation for everyone's abilities and love giving help and support to assist with their disabilities. I was recently the caregiver for an elderly man named Jack for the past three years. Unfortunately he has passed. Jack was 90 when he passed. I worked with him for 3 years and it was my absolute pleasure. He had Parkinson's disease as well as onset dementia and needed extensive care with most aspects of ADL's but could perform certain tasks independently. This has taught me that not all peoples limitations are the same, we must work to figure out strengths and weaknesses so we can be of assistance and not take away ones independence.
I am interested in doing the best I can on a daily basis which means giving care fits me. I was in a serious accident and lost my voice. I was able to become a caregiver by helping out around the house and driving others to their appointments. While my voice healed the job requirements changed, I did more for Bernice and her family as she started declining in her health. I was with her and her husband for about two years. I helped establish a system in their house so that they both could age without worry. I was more than a worker I became part of their family. When Bernice became bed stricken I decided to go back to school. Now I am licensed and ready for an opportunity to become successful. :->

I'm a very caring and patient person. I've assisted my elderly grandparents since 9 years old. Although not knowing it was an actual job, I did it because it was for them. I treat my clients as if they were part of my own family. I started babysitting at 10 from newborn to 10 years old. I enjoy helping others in whatever I'm able to.

Hello! my name is Lisa. Currently, I am the Social Services Case Manager at a very dynamic Skilled Nursing Facility in Santa Barbara, CA. Our family is relocating to Santa Ynez. During my time in this position I have found my niche; working with the elderly population. My greatest strength is empathy. I will provide superior companionship. As a mother of two, I certainly know the basics of running a household. I care deeply about all my current residents, and this will translate into my future caregiving job. My background is psychology. I work well with dementia individuals. I can provide some transfers and specific ADL assistance dependent on the extent and my ability to confidently maintain safety at all times. I look forward to meeting with yourself and or your loved one.
I found my calling after years of taking care of my elderly parents and also my own family. I took a job near my home assisting a RN and an LVN to care for 6 mentally and physically challenged adults in a group home. I fell in love with the job and was heart sick, when a year later, the group home closed, due to lack of funding from the state. I decided to go back to school and earn my CNA certification. I served an internship at three different assisted living facilities during my training and was convinced that this was the field I was happiest in. I got a job I love and have been kept busy but would like some extra work in addition to my regular job. I have good references from people who know my good work history.
