My name is Silivia, and people can call me Syl in short . I am 32 years of age . I am an Pacific Islander , which is from Fiji . I've live here in California for 10 years and with all these years , I've been doing caregiving jobs. My personality : I am a very humble lady and holds a lot of patience, I'm very kind , very loving , I work with all my abilities and fulfilling jobs and tasks required more than expected. My experiences : I've looked after hospices, bed ridden cases, dementia, Alzheimers, strokes, transfers cases, catheter cases. What attracted me to being a caregiver: I have the passion , sacrifices, commitment, and love [?] to look after the elders and seniors . Back home (In Fiji) , we live with our extended family and elderly, and it's part of our lives to take care for our elders. So with that , when I do my job in California as a caregiver, I count the elders I looked after to be part of my very own family. So with love and care , I make sure, the elders are looked after according to their needs and make them very comfortable. What I enjoyed about being a caregiver : Getting to know the different clients, learning new things, moving to new environments, adapting to new way of living , even adopt to new food with my clients according to their taste and sometimes I fix food according to the Way I cook and bake, it is exciting and interesting. Personal Achievement : I've learnt new life experiences , I have been able to become a good cook and baker in the way the clients like. Caregiving jobs enable me to drive and attain my valid California driving license. It gave me confidence to drive my clients to appointments and attend to recreational centers or even take them for rides. I'm always happy, cheerful, positive and helpful. I was taking care of my grand parents back in Nepal since then I decided to take care of elderly people. It is so rewarding. Some how I really like to be around elderly and Down syndrome special people. For me they are sweet and innocence. I feel that if I treated them good, one day God will send me somebody who will be good to me.

I provide 72+ hour skilled care. For more than 10 years I have provided care for those with diseases, illnesses and post-operative care up and down the Northern California coast. As a former news journalist, I am professional, well-spoken and research-oriented. I pride myself as being a knowledgeable and detail-oriented. I raised my four daughters myself- which gives me a depth of patience and understanding. I received my CNA in 2013.
