My mother had kidney failure, and was a dialysis patient for many years. She went from hemodialysis three times a week to peritoneal dialysis which is 5 times a day. My sisters and I had to have a crash course training just to keep my mother comfortable. My father suffered from lung cancer and his care was very challenging as well. My oldest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and seeing her go through chemotherapy was very difficult. Because I have had these personal experiences is why I have chosen to become a caregiver and help individuals with special needs. I have a positive personality, compassionate and a great listener.
