I am a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with excellent interpersonal communication skills that allow me to excel as a caregiver. I became a CNA because I wanted to help others and knew the medical field was my true passion. I enjoy meeting my clients' needs and being rewarded with a smile on their face. A personal achievement I am proud of is how much I've grown as a CNA and how I have gained so much knowledge and skills along the way.

I am a Registered Nurse currently working with a developmentally delayed individual in his home. I have worked with all age groups in a variety of settings such as in-home care, residential care, skilled nursing, clinics, hospitals, hospice, etc. I have had licensure/certification as a CNA, DA, EMT, RN and have also worked as a childcare provider, restaurant employee and manager/supervisor. I enjoy helping people enjoy their lives as much as possible. I love my children and grandchildren and enjoy living in nature. I have cared for my mother, 2 mothers-in-law, father-in-law, and other people during their last days/years.

I am a very upbeat and happy person. I love to make people smile, laugh and enjoy life. I am kind, patient, dependable, honest, trustworthy, gentle, hard working, intelligent, compassionate, understanding, and have a great sense of humor. I love animals, all of them! My favorite place to be is outdoors, primarily hiking and swimming. I truly enjoy meeting new people. I also love spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I enjoy reading, writing, board and card games, movies, cleaning, cooking. When my fraternal grandmother entered a care home when I was 12, I went to visit her every day. I was shocked to see how many elderly patients had no one who visited them. So I unofficially became a volunteer and would visit other residents; reading to them, talking, playing games, dancing, whatever brought a little joy back into their lives. Caregiving has been a part of my life ever since. I took care of my maternal grandmother who had severe rheumatoid arthritis and Dementia in her home until she passed away. I then moved my mother in with me when she was first diagnosed with Alzheimers and cared for her until her death 10 years later. I also cared for one of my brothers who was diagnosed with end stage Dementia at the age of 58 and passed away right before his 61st birthday. So I completely understand what loved ones must go through as family members become older, sick, or suffer from an injury. What I enjoy most about being a Caregiver is simply helping someone who needs it, especially if it allows them to remain in their own home. A personal achievement that I am proud of is raising such loving, kind, respectful, and amazing children.

I've worked for Senior living Companies for over thirty years and I love working for Seniors, I have compassion, respect and understanding of seniors. I've been a Chef for Seniors and love knowing that I'm nourishing them, I enjoy entertaining them also, through activities. I also work with Alzheimer residents, redirecting them when they are confused. My biggest achievement that I'm proud of is making my residents Happy Daily, through my compassion and respect for seniors.

I lost my husband seven years ago to liver cancer felt this was a calling for me to give back i enjoy the conversation and companionship also helped my grandmother when her caregiver needed me I am also certified with the state of California And have been fingerprinted by the state of California I am interested in living inCompanion taking care of them on a permanent basis

When I first meet my future client(s) and family we get to know each other quickly. I am a relaxed easy going person who likes to make the day fun and interesting but yet work productivly while serving your family member (s). Having to re-enter the workforce after raising three daughters and graduating from college led me on a search for a career that fed my soul while serving others. I became a caregiver because a friend at church suggested it and I found it was a perfect fit. What I like most about care giving is that it is multi- faceted work. It not just about the everyday tasks it's about relationships, relating, observing and thinking creatively as to how to meet a special need, hope or want. Its about bringing my whole self into another's life and finding out what they need and then working to make it happen. Recently I was able to take a mother (Alzheimer's) and son (physical disabilities) out to Walmart to do Christmas shopping. It was a great day. The son enjoyed the day and had a great sense of accomplishment and the mom had a chance to see her son realize a goal. They both thanked me in the car on the way home and were so happy. This gave me a great sense of accomplishment as neither if them wanted to venture out much for the first few months. Now, after a year with them we plan out the day and include at least one fun adventure each week. This expands their world, abilities and enhances their lives. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am a compassionate and empathetic individual whom believes in treating the client with dignity and respect. I have always been interetsted in medicine and how an individuals quality of life can be improved through specialized care. I thrive off of the appreciation and recognition I receieve from caring for my clients. I personally enjoy seeing an individuals quality of life improve with quality care.

I became a caregiver because almost 13 years ago my uncle was beaten and left for dead. While helping my grandmother care for him I realized that this is something I'm passionate about. I love working with people and hearing old stories and just being able to help them. I'm feel I am great for this line of work.
