Hi, I'm Ronald Porter, I'm 26 yrs old, I've worked as a direct care staff/caregiver for about 4/5 years, I'm also CPR/AED Certified. I love being a caregiver, I love getting to know and hearing the stories of everyone that I take care of. I also enjoy making their day, I really believe that this is my calling. A little more about me is that I'm trustworthy, dependable, and reliable, with the experience I have, you will have no worries.

My oldest child is 30 years old, I also have a 21 year old, and a 13 year old. My children are my greatest achievements and they are where my caregiver "carrier" truly started. They taught me a great deal of patience, they taught me to be reliable and flexible. All are things that I use in my caregiver profession still today. Through them I have learned I love helping people. When I have a client they become a second family to me. For me seeing the smile of a family member I have helped leaves me with a worm fuzzy feeling that cant be explained. I would like the chance to be part of your family so i can share in all of you achievements and help with any burdens you may have.

I am a very compassionate and easygoing person. Strive to do my best and help others. I Love working with people. Very outgoing, encouraging and motivated to do what needs to be done. Whether it is just being there or helping out, I love helping others. Very honest, dependable and hardworking. Christian, non-smoker, loves animals. I treat my clients as family. I have obtained my Associate degree in Science, Arts and Medical Assisting. I also finished my bachelor degree last year, and I have many years in the nursing field as a Certified Medical Assistant.

Helped patients with personal care, which included washing bed linens, washing clothing, and ironing clothing. Directed patients how to use new medical devices, such as a new prosthetic or crutches. Offered companionship to patients, and played games with them or read to them. Massaged patients to offer comfort or to apply a specific treatment.

A little about myself, to begin, I am a hard-working and driven individual who isn't afraid to face a challenge. I'm passionate about my work and strive to get the job done. I describe myself as an open and honest person who doesn't believe in misleading other people and tries to be fair in all I do. I do my best to be ambitious and driven. I thrive on a challenge and constantly set goals for myself, so I have something to continue to work towards. I am not comfortable with settling, as I hold myself to high standards and I am always looking for an opportunity to do better and achieve greatness. Not perfection, but greatness. I have a friendly personality and enjoy getting to genuinely know others. I am genuine, and people describe me as authentic and honest. I am a hard worker and am always putting in the extra effort to achieve my goals. I am attracted to caregiving because I thrive in service for others. It's a joy and in my nature, to care for others. I love the phrase "do unto others as you would have done unto you". This is something I keep in my perspective and do my best to treat others with kindness. Something I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the fulfillment I feel from it. Helping others 'do' when they aren't able. Being 'someone' for others when they don't have anyone at times. That in itself is a beautiful blessing to be a part of. A personal achievement I am proud of is starting a small business. Starting your own company can be a life changing event for anyone brave enough to give it a go. I opened my home years ago to become a child caregiver. This was a huge step in my life as I learned more about business, leadership, communication, training skills, etc. I hope to expand my caregiver skills in other areas and look forward to opportunities to do so.
