Hello my name is Karen Jeffrey. I have been a CNA since 2011. I absolutely love taking care of people. I have worked in nursing homes,but I enjoy doing home healthcare more. I feel like I make more of a difference in home care because I get to know the patient more and can spend more time with them. I am currently working on going to school to further my career as a RN. I have also babysat, cleaned homes, waitressed,, cashier, and caterings.

I became a caregiver because I believe this country was built by our elders, they have done their job and it is time for us to care for them. I feel like if they can no longer help their selves we should be there to support them and give them a sense of security that they long for. I am very patient and loving, I treat the patients as if they were my own family.

I became a care giver because growing up my mother was a nurse and I watched her and the excitement and the delight she got out of being able to help people. I've always thought I want to be able to help people like she did for so many years. I like that I can not only help these individuals with their daily living but I also get to be a part in their life and their story. I love to listen to their life stories most of them are really fascinating. I love the feeling I get when a resident thanks me for just doing my job. A personal achievement I am proud of would be the births of my two sons and being able to take care of them being a single parent.

I currently work as a CNA at the Health Center of Lake City. I enjoy helping others and knowing I am making a difference in ones life. I became a caregiver to make others lives easier, and make others feel that they still have a purpose in life. I make the best out of all situations and live to make others smile. It makes me happy to know that I make a difference in anothers life. I am currently enrolled in Florida Gateway College and plan to strive in the health field.

My Mother's breast cancer came back and she was terminal. She could no longer care for my disabled Father, so I stepped in to help with cleaning, meal prep, and Dr. appointments. I enjoyed getting to know my parents better until their passing. We had a lot of laughs and hard conversations as well. I became a CNA a year and a half into caring for my parents part time. I was a carpenter by trade and decided on a career change.I have taken care of other patients privately. In the five years that I have been a CNA, I have become quite an advocate for the disabled and enjoy searching for resources to their betterment. I am a married mother of two grown daughters. I enjoy the outdoors and the theater. I have compassion for people in general.. I love to hear their stories and share ideas and experiences of my own. I care for people the way I would want to be treated.

I have worked in a nursing home setting for the past four years. I have enjoyed helping my patients and providing for them. I have done a varity with them, whether its physical fitness/therapy, feeding, bathing, dressing, doing activities, and so much more. We give the encouragement to help motivate the patients to do better and get back to health. I would like to keep helping patients, but on a more one on one basis.
