I chose to become a care giver from passed experience rendering cares for my disabled father who needed around the clock assistance. I am also mother who pays every attention to care giving. One of my proudest achievement was during my last assignment working with a five old child who was diagnosed with down syndrome ,with feeding tube. This child had all the complications you could imagine. He was constantly removing his tube, could not eat solid food nor ingest anything by mouth. I personally took on the challenge to care for this child. Within six months, this child started to ingest some form of solid food. By eleven month, this child was completely wean off of Gtube feedings. The entire ordeal was difficult and time consuming, but I was very proud of our achievement.
