My personality positive attitude, very welcoming and understanding. I have a disabled brother and I care for him so I put a little extra care in as if they are my family. I enjoy getting to know the family and the person and become apart of their circle . I have achieved so much thus far I'm a CPT,Medical assistant, HHA, and still pursuing a nursing degree.

I believe my most useful qualities in this role are patience and kindness. I as a caregivers I'm good listeners and empathetic conversationalists. Also, I am a good detail-oriented, diligent problem solvers and have technical medical skills to apply to patients as needed.

Im a great caregiver because I have 2 beautiful daughters and always trusted that they were in great care when they were small and I worked. I also cared for my mom when her health failed. So from caring for them and making sure they had great caregivers makes me know that whomever needed a caregiver would want someone that has a caring heart for people and would treat them as you want to be treated also their love ones. In 1986 I furthered my education in the healthcare field and from then until for I've been working as a Certified Nurse Asst., Home health aid Private Duty Caregiver. I currently operates an Adult Family Care Home were I have live-in Mental impaired residents of whom I've cared for for many years, I also work with Developmental Clients, Alzheimer's Residents too. I love caring for the elderly, Mental, and disabled persons that need help with ADL and that are unable to provide services for themselves. I don't single anyone out or label them I treat them as family and as they are just as you and I HUMAN I see myself not being able to care for myself and often feels that I could be in the same position and would want someone who cares about me and my needs and have the heart to help in areas that I m in need of. So from 1980 until now my heart still goes out to those in need of CARE.

My name is Courtney Brown. I have been working in the home healthcare field for 12 years. I am cpr, bls, mandt, fire safety, AAA driver safety, and proxy certified. I have always had the heart and passion to help others especially elders who can't do things on their own. I have worked with many different individuals with different disabilities and needs. I worked in IDD group homes where I had to cook, clean, give meds, provide transportation and help with everyday living assistance. Being able to go home knowing that I was able to help protect and keep others safe is something I am always proud of.

I started my nursing career at 22 years old. I was a kid when I started, but I was a kid with a different type of soul and I knew it. It was almost scary being that age and full of love and knowledge. Let's be honest, most kids at that age are having the time of their life. I had fun too, but it was reading and educating myself. That was my fun. I think having a sick sibling at a young age is what drew me into nursing. I was about 13 when my sister was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. Interesting enough, I would read and learn more about her disease than she did. I stuck with me. I have been a nurse a total of 22 years.

What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I enjoy helping people. I enjoy sitting and listening to people who enjoy sharing their stories with me when they were younger, or just talking about life in general. As a child I always knew that helping people was what God created me to do and I believe that everyday as I go about my day I see that this my true calling, and I believe that this is what I am suppose to do. I interact with patients all the time when they come into their appointments and there is never a dull moment. They share, and I listen because some have no one to talk to and I believe that me being that person that can talk to not only help them but also helps me to become a great listener and they thank me for that. I am very dependable and very realiable and I am vey compassionate about my work and my job. I am a very positive person and I truly believe that is what make my job easier to do because I love helping people and bring a smile to their faces.

I have 5 years of experience as a Home Health Aide with extensive skills. I have worked with all kinds of clients: cancer patients, hospice patients, diabetic patients, etc. I enjoy working as a HHA and offering my compassionate care to those who really need my help. I go above and beyond just to make sure my clients are comfortable, satisfied, and able to enjoy their daily lives. I am a very friendly, patient, outgoing, and reliable worker. I became a caregiver because I love peoples and I like taking care of people. I like listening to clients helping them with there bathing reading to them taking them on walks if they are wheelchair bound just being there for them. One personal Achievement that I have acquired is I was able to fulfilled a wish for my son grandmother she had terminal cancer and did not want to be in a nursing home and I moved out of my home and took care of her until she passed. I am 55 years old have been a cna for over 30 years I have two children five grandchildren and I am in school I want to be a social worker married for sixteen year. I will have my AA this semester and will start school in the fall for my bachelor's degree .
