The God given qualities that make me a great care giver is the action of treating the individuals that I have had the opportunity to care for with respect and dignity that everyone on this earth deserves. I have an innate ability to treat people the way I want to be treated and I understand that everyone needs some one to care for them.
I have been a caregiver for over four years with family, another four years with kids of my own and nieces and nephews. Furthermore, I have been an caregiver in the health care facility for two years. I have a humorous personality, but not more then an loving, giving, and caring heart for others. My passion for caregiving started when I was in middle school picking out my future job career, which is becoming a pediatric nurse. It has always been my set passion career goal and I am still pursuing and working towards its completion. Being able to care for others helps me and others in life of becoming a better person and realizing how to enjoy life while we can. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I have been in college for 5 years on and off but still have not given up on completing my goal of becoming an RN/Pediatric Nurse.
The reason I decided to become a CNA is because I enjoy helping others. It started with me taking care of my grandmother and mom. Once they past I decided I can help others and bring some joy into their lives. I have worked with the elderly, youth, and middle age from Alzheimer to the mental disabled. Helping others bring a sense of joy to me and makes my life complete.
Hello. My name is Shekelia Martin. I am 26 years old and currently work at Seymour Southern Comforts as a housekeeper/aide. Being able to brighten someone day is the best part of my job. I encourage my residents to walk and join different activities.
I became a caregiver through caring for my oldest brother who died from cancer. After he passed, I decided that I could care for others who needed assistance because I realized how important it is to have someone help others when they are sick or bedridden. I have the ability to talk to clients in a loving and caring way and I also take the needs needs of the client to heart. I consider it a blessing to help others.
My grandfather was a quadriplegic i helped take care of him from age 7 until 13 then i took care of him most of the time by myself doing everything a CNA would do even some things a LPN would do until he passed when i turned 19 and i went last year a got my CNA, First Aide, and CPR and have worked at two different nursing homes. I take my job very seriously. I like to take the time to get to know them so i will know how they would like to be treated
