I have been a caregiver for over 17 years. I most certainly love what I do. What makes me a great caregiver is that i am very patient, gentle and sensitive to the needs of my clients. I am very caring and compassionate and that is what has drawn me to become a caregiver because people need care and they most definitely need to be shown compassion. I became a Caregiver after over 27 years of being a Certified Nursing Assistant and Patient Care Tech. Although I enjoy working in LTC facilities, Hospitals, and Rehabilitation facilities I really enjoy the ability to give one-on-one care....it is very personable. I pride myself on the care and attentiveness I share with my clients. I am CPR certified, am knowledgeable in gluecose care, Catherter and colostomy care. and again I have worked in the care of the elderly over 27 years.
I am a hard working professional with years of experience in customer service, patient care and hospice care. I am a team player as well as a self motivator and very independent. I have good listening skills, great time-management skills and dependable. I love taking care of people and making an impact on people's lives and I've learned and grown in being a great caregiver. With over 6 years in the health and educational field , I have gotten so much experience that emits through my work. Working with developmentally disabled individuals has taught me to be extremely patient and empathetic. Working at the hospital has made me seen patients at their best and worst. Therefore I believe in improvement. A positive incline in my patients health is what motivates me to choose to further my education. Presently attending The University of Illinois at Chicago, juggling school, personal life, and work has also taught me to be extremely time cautious and very resourceful. I have always enjoyed helping others in need. It has become second nature to me. Growing up I was always taught to treat others as I would like to be treated which I brought up my children the same. I have been blessed to be able to work with families that grew to love and trust me and I felt the same. I'm looking forward to helping others as well.
