Patience : especially when dealing with the elderly, it is essential for a caregiver to be patient because some of the consumers might not know what they are doing and some needed more time to understand informations . What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Putting a smile on my patients face when they achieve their daily goals What is a personal achievement you are proud of? A moment of recognition from a loved one with dementia, a heartfelt "thank you"

I am a very patient and optimistic person. I believe everyone has the right to live their lives the best way that they can irrespective of their condition. I am a compassionate person and that is what got me into the caregiver field in the first place. I cared for my loved one when he was recovering from surgery and since then I have caring for people especially seniors because they do not have the ability to do most things that they could not do when they were younger. I like to see people smiling and happy and that is what I enjoy most about being a caregiver, the ability to put a smile on someone's face. I do not see the disability but I see the ability hidden. I let people know that you can create sunshine even when it is wet and rainy and dark.

A short preview of me... I started volunteering at our local nursing facility when I was 12 years old. At the tender age of 15, I had my very first Home Care job. I have also worked in a facility but have found that I really enjoy the one on one care I can give an individual. I've been doing Home Care for 27 years now. It's my passion. I currently am State Certified Home Health Care Aide . I have also had CNA training in the past. I love the care that I can provide for those in need. It's the most rewarding career I believe.

I'm an outgoing Person. I love to learn new things. Me caring for others is a big thing in my life because it makes me happy knowing I've cared for others in need. It also makes me happy knowing I can use my strength to save someone's life.

Helping others is my passion, I've been in the healthcare field for over 15 years and I enjoy what I do! I've worked 10 years in the nursing home and 5 years in the hospital! Being able to put a smile on my clients face is my greatest achievement.
