I am a 46yr old married mother of 2 adult sons. I have always enjoyed helping people. I have worked with developmentally disabled people to severely mentally I'll people and each individual had so many unique qualities and everyone of them had something to offer in their community. They taught me to be a much more patient, attentive and to be a great listener. Not just to hear but listen and I believe that's so very important for a person to be heard. At the end of the day if I'm able to reflect back on my day and know I've done my very best for my clients and hopefully made their quality of life that much better then I can truely say I had a great day and hopefully positively impacted those I've interacted with on that day.

To help the elderly. I am very patient and kind. I consider anyone I care for like a grandparent. I love listening to stories from their past. Some are happy, some sad. One thing I'm proud of is how I handled a particular situation with,a client. This client didn't have much time left. They lived on a farm. Each day I would go there we would ride on a gator around the farm for hours This person wanted to be outside all the time. We rode that gator for hours., but stopping to eat or drink of course. He taught me to feed the cow, gather chicken eggs ect. We really bonded and he taught me a lot about country life.
I was raised in a family of numerous health care providers. My father worked as a physician in emergency medicine for 22 years. I have 2 older siblings that pursued the medical field as well and chose psychiatry as their profession. I chose nursing as it allows me to be more intimately involved with the family and patient.
