My name is Shawndell Rideau I've been in the medical field for about 15 years. I'm experienced in skilled nursing, homecare, special disabilities, hospice care, rehab, etc . I love what I do being able to care for other is passion and blessing to put a smile on their face. Since I was a little girl going to the nursing home with my school choir singing and dancing for the residents always made them happy . At 19 I went and got my C.N.A license and went from there pursing my passion . I went to school a couple years back and got my Medical Assistant Certification which im proud of and want to go back for my R.N.

What's makes a great Caregiver is someone that has compassion for what they do. That comes with being honest, genuine, patient, and loving. I believe I am all those and more. I always try to connect with people, make memories and become a part of their life. I love to read, write, and I absolutely love puzzles. I have been a certified nursing assistant for a year now, with that CNA license I also carry a certified medication aides license giving me the ability to administer medication as well. I am going to school at JCCC and I do work as well. Mostly during the day. I've had multiple different kinds of experience with allot of people. I have had experience with residents that have had a g-tube, I have personal experience when it comes to that. I also have experience with trachea, a colostomy, someone being paralyzed, and also residents that have Dementia. I love my job and what I do. Being able to make memories with those that I see everyday makes my heart glow. The achievement that I am most proud of is escaping a harsh environment with my child by my side. And finding a passion I long for which is making others smile. Doing the best I can as a mother, a caregiver. And a friend.

My personality traits are to help me be a great caregiver is -loyalty, hones, respectful, responsible, fairness, and kindness. What really attracted me to be a caregiver was when i started going to work with my Mom and as a caregiver you have a vital to play in the life of anther person. I enjoy being a caregiver and being with my clients and making sure all their needs are taken care of and being able to grow with them. What i am proud of the most is completing my CMA certificate. Also knowing that i can care for my clients and do the thing they relay on their caregivers to do for them.

I have strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of care. I enjoy being a caregiver because you get the one on one experience and really get to know the person you are taking care of!

I love taking care of people. The love of taking care of people started when I was 11yrs old and my father was terminally ill. I helped take care of him until his last day. I love taking care of people and trying to help them experience the best days they can. I am currently enrolled in college and I will graduate November 2015. I enjoy working out, taking care of people, and helping them achieve goals like getting out of bed, losing weight, eating healthy, and staying healthy.
