My name is Danna Biggs and I'm 60 years old..I am now a Indiana Certified Nursing Assistant.I live in Evansville Indiana I have been a caretaker for over 20 years I m drawn to it because it's what I love to do.Assisting individuals with tasks as needed makes me feel like I'm a actually making a difference in their quality of life.Ive worked with individuals in their home and I've assisted individuals in a Nursing home and in hospital.Ive assisted the individuals with adls,cooking,cleaning etc and out in community with shopping concerts,to appointments and to work or day program or activity.I also administered medications ,and documented in Mars.I can document on paper or on computer.I worked with Special Needs, sometimes mentally disadvantaged sometimes mentally and physically handicapped or just physically disabled.Im dependable and will work my scheduled hours and even overtime if necessary or as needed.I treat all my clients or individuals with care and respect and dignity.The individuals are safe and in good hands with me.

I love taking care of others. I learn so much from the elderly because they have lived a long life and can inform me of years long ago before I was born or was a little child.

I have been in healthcare since I was 17 years old. I had to care for my grandmother at a very young age but I would never trade it for the world! The memories, the stories, it is amazing how much the elderly can have an affect on your life! I have had several jobs outside of healthcare and NOTHING makes me happy except being a CNA! It's my calling! It's what I know and love! I enjoy life so much more knowing I helped someone else in need and was there for them! Wrinkles tell amazing stories!

I am a 46yr old married mother of 2 adult sons. I have always enjoyed helping people. I have worked with developmentally disabled people to severely mentally I'll people and each individual had so many unique qualities and everyone of them had something to offer in their community. They taught me to be a much more patient,attentive and to be a great listener. Not just to hear but listen and I believe that's so very important for a person to be heard. At the end of the day if I'm able to reflect back on my day and know I've done my very best for my clients and hopefully made their quality of life that much better then I can truely say I had a great day and hopefully positively impacted those I've interacted with on that day.

Personality traits or expertise that help me be a great caregiver are patience, compassion, and dependability. What attracted me to be a caregiver is my journey of being a Direct Support Professional has been phenomenal and has gone better than ever expected since I didn't have any previous experience. My time as a DSP has truly been a blessing because it has been the job I have fallen in love with which subsequently makes it feel like it isn't work or a "job." My passion of being a companion and taking care of others minimizes the perspective of it being another job. I'm truly happy with life knowing I'm making a difference in one's life and able to make them feel as if they have family or will finally have somebody that is diligent with them. A personal achievement I'm proud of is I finally know what I want to do in life and my job search has finally come to an end. I'm proud that I have found something I want to stick with.

What makes me a great caregiver is my dedication to this industry,I have 30+ years of expertise experience. I am,very compassionate,caring,punctual,organized,and dedicated too! I have always been attracted to being a caregiver from the get go. I love the elderly,their wisdom,and compassion too! They have raised us up,so I wanted to give back to them as I could and as long as I'm able to!! The thing I enjoy about being a caregiver is the elders knowledge they can bestow upon me! My most personal achievement that I'm proud of is,I not only have so many years as a caregiver,I also had the great honor of taking care of my beautiful,best friend,my mom before she passed away almost a year ago now!
